Personal Policies

Susanne of Living To Tell The Story tagged me forever ago for a Personal Policies Meme.  I'm just getting around to it.

1.  No shoes in the house.  We've discussed this before.  I just can't stand to have shoes on when I don't have to.

2.  It must be dark to sleep.  Noise does not bother me, but light does.

3.  Don't leave the house with dishes in the sink and clutter on the floor.  This is a new rule I've made for myself.  I really want to get into this habit.  When the kitchen is clean, my whole world seems more under control.  And coming home to a tidy house is so refreshing!

4.  If you aren't my husband, please don't kiss me.  And if you aren't a close girlfriend, please don't hug me.  I'm all about my personal space.  What ever happened to the good ol' handshake, anyway?

5.  When I get up in the morning, I go directly to the bathroom and potty, put in my contacts, and brush my teeth, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

6.  When leaving the house, I always bring a big bottle of water.  I find I drink more when I'm in the car than I do anywhere else.

7.  Don't write anything on The Blawg that you wouldn't want anyone in the whole wide world to read.  Because, well, it is the "world wide web", now, isn't it?

I'm the same about the kitchen. I can do NOTHING else all day as long as the kitchen is clean I feel like I've got something done.

Great rules! I feel the same way about my kitchen, but even more so when my living room is completely clean. I love walking into a clean home. I can't leave town without cleaning my whole house.

I just thought all women were huggy people. I love hugs.

Oh, I guess I misrepresented. I don't mind hugs from girlfriends. I just don't like it when most men go for the social hug. I find it very awkward. And the worst is the social kiss. ACK! I wouldn't make a very good European, would I? LOL!!

I agree with the social kiss. Very awkward.

I love your list. We're such twins-seperated-at-birth!!

I wouldn't make a great European either ;)

I want to get into the clean house habit, myself! I only hope it is not to late for me ;)

I REALLY need to adopt #3 as a rule here. I think everyone would be happier!

I'm a big hugger - but yeah, not a social kisser - ewwww!

(BTW - you said let you know when the new look was done - and guess what? It is now! Fast, huh? Woo!)

Very good list. I am so with you on all of those, especially the personal space one (we had an issue with that at our church of all places!), but I would have to add a made up bed to the leaving the house rule. Smart to bring your h2o with you too. I used to look like I was leaving on a trip before school each morning (teacher bag, purse, lunch, coffee, water jug...)
S.

I love rule #3. I need to make more of an effort to do that 'cause you're right, a clean kitchen just makes you feel good.

love it cant wait to type mine up!!!

Great list! I'll have to put some thought into that and come up with my own list. I'm with you on the clean sink rule, but I break the "personal space" rule all the time (although, I don't hug anyone else's husband). I'm a hugger; a trait of a true southerner!. It's funny because this subject just came up, my sister is here visiting from Boston and my friends have been hugging her. She told me she found it alarming at first and then rememberd "oh yea, I'm in the south. It's okay". So, now when she sees my friends she's the first one to reach out and hug! Funny!

I'll have to get working on my list!

Blessings,
Georgia Mom
